Each pair of shoes are hand sewn by a group of previously disadvantaged women from the coastal city of Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. An economically challenged area with a high unemployment rate, many families face a tough life of poverty and little opportunity. African Footprints is proud to be making an impact in elevating peoples lives and creating sustainable employment. What started as a small home business by a mom-preneuer, making her first pair of shoes for her daughter has now grown into a business that employs 20 women.
